I just sat in a Hyundai dealer for two hours for them to effectively take a joyride and tell me what I already know (and told them when I scheduled). The kicker is that they now have to reschedule for 2 weeks later because they close in 30 mins and to fix the issue will apparently take 2 hours.
I have a warped disk for those interested. I’m now just going to take my Genesis to a hometown shop. I’m done with Hyundai Service.

That’s why you should open your own shop.

I’ve run into a few people who are tired of Hyundai/Kia service. One guy was pissed because they gave him the wrong filters for his vehicle (they gave him a rectangular air filter instead of a five sided one, and the cabin air filter didn’t fit), and another one didn’t give a reason, just told us to never go to the local Kia dealer.

If you were in Houston, there’d be so many local shops that could take care of you in a snap.

Not to pour salt on the wound but if you already knew what was wrong why didn’t you fix it yourself? Changing rotors is about as easy as it gets. Taking the wheel off is the hardest part. It’s literally 2 bolts after that.

I’m sorry to hear that. My mom’s Genesis just finished a major service at Hardin Hyundai, in Anaheim, CA. They were excellent. We called and explained that we would like an oil service, serpentine pulley whine fixed, and the oil leak fixed (last two under warranty). They kept us updated as parts came in and installed, so I can’t complain. No leaks, and a perfectly quiet accessory system.

Rotors don’t warp. FYI

This is what I hear. I wonder how they planned to fix the issue if be the case because they’re still wobbly right now. And why lie about it anyways?

I believe the warped disc feeling happens because of a buildup of friction material imbedding in the rotor. Usually from holding the brakes on one spot, like at a stoplight, after heating the brakes a little too much. The extra friction material causes more to build and gives a pulsing sensation.

You will still need to replace the rotors and pads. Follow the manufacturers break in procedure and try not to hold them fixed when they get really hot.
